Vegan FAQ
“I’m not an animal lover.”
Veganism is not about love.
There is no need to love animals in order to respect their right not to be used.
Veganism is about justice for animals, not human feelings.
“Some people need meat to be healthy.”
All animal products are completely unnecessary for human health. A well balanced vegan diet (only plants) is perfectly healthy for everyone.
There is nothing in the fiberless products of exploitation and death we cannot get from the massive plant food kingdom.

I highly recommend Dr. John McDougall’s “Color Picture Book.” It’s a great summary of what humans should eat in order to prevent obesity and sickness:

“Don’t plants feel pain?”
Nonvegans will say that eating plants is just as harmful or even more harmful than eating from animals.
Plants react to stimuli like our cells react to molecules, they are not sentient like animals are. They have no brain or central nervous system.
Even if plants were sentient, we’d still need to live vegan. Animal products involve more plant use and resources than just consuming plants.

“Should we use graphic imagery?’
When we show nonvegans graphic footage of animals being harmed, we imply that our treatment of animals is the problem, not our use.
Animals will always be harmed as long as they are property. Ownership is harm in itself—it’s slavery.
Educate veganism as a matter of justice for the abolition of animal use, not as an optional lifestyle choice for harm reduction.
